Background and history of the Rhododendron

The Rhododendron has a fascinating history that goes back thousands of years. Originally, this plant comes from the mountainous regions of Asia, particularly the Himalayas, but it also grows in parts of Europe and North America. The name Rhododendron is derived from the Greek “rhodon” (rose) and “dendron” (tree), which literally means “rose tree”.
