Seizoensinvloeden op planten en bloemen – waarom is niet alles altijd op voorraad?

Seasonal influences on plants and flowers – why is not everything always in stock?

At The plant Farmer we believe in delivering the best quality plants and flowers, directly from the grower. But sometimes it happens that certain products are temporarily unavailable. You visit a page full of beautiful plants, but instead of a full assortment, you see that there are no products in stock. Why is that? The answer lies in the natural cycle of plants and the influence of seasons.

Why do seasons affect inventory?

Plants and flowers are living products that depend on nature. Many of our growers work according to natural growth cycles, which means that some species are only available in certain months of the year. This means that in winter, for example, you will find fewer flowering outdoor plants, while spring brings an explosion of colours.

Example:

Spring – Tulips, daffodils and hyacinths come into bloom and are widely available.

Summer – Summer bloomers such as dahlias, lavender and hydrangeas dominate the range.

Autumn – Perennials such as ornamental grasses and heather are widely available.

Winter – Poinsettias, hardy shrubs and conifers are favourites.

Plants grow with the seasons

Growers work with nature. Some plants need longer growing periods and are only available when they have reached their optimum size or flowering. Growing a healthy plant can take months, and growers take their time to ensure quality. This means that you will not find summer bloomers in the winter, for example, because they are only grown and sold in the spring.

In addition, customer demand also plays a role. Popular plants can quickly sell out, especially if they are only available for a short time in the season.

What happens if products are temporarily out of stock?

When certain plants are not available, we do not remove them from the website. Instead, the pages remain, but without products. This ensures that you can continue to read the information about the plants or flowers and know what to expect when they are available again.

How can you respond to this?

Plan ahead: Seasonal produce is often limited. Act fast if you see something you want to buy.

Find alternatives: Look at similar plants or flowers that are in season at that time.

Wishlist: Add products you would like to buy to your wishlist. You will be notified when they are back in stock.

Seasonal influences as an advantage

Although it can be frustrating when a product is not available, there are advantages. Seasonal plants are often stronger, healthier and grow better because they are grown at exactly the right time. This ensures more flowering and longer enjoyment in your garden or home.

At The plant Farmer we strive for sustainability and quality. By working with seasonal stocks, we avoid waste and ensure that only the best plants end up in your home.
